Sean Wood, Behaviour & Inclusion Adviser
Sean Wood was the first out-of-classroom AST in the country, after he persuaded both his Authority and then the Dfes, that he should be allowed along with subject specialists and primary classroom practitioners to apply for AST status. His rationale was that, his inclusive and behavioural work enabled disenfranchised students to access the curriculum on offer. He was successful and before recently moving to Derbyshire he set up a programme of re-integration for permanently excluded students in the Borough of Tameside. This programme was aided by his copyrighted publication `The Passport To Mainstream`. He is now developing the whole concept further and the Innovations Unit at the Dfes are monitoring the progress and efficacy of the project at Glossopdale Community Arts College, Glossop.
